Much emotion filled Frost Arena on Oct. 20 as the Drake Bulldogs and the SDSU Jacks squared off in a non-league volleyball match. In the end, one team had Mackenzie Angner, the other did not. Angner and the Jackrabbits won the match, 3-2 (25-19, 16-25, 20-25, 25-22, 16-14) in front of 492 fans.

The men and women's tennis teams each swept a pair of duals against Montana State-Billings Oct. 18 and 19 in Rapid City. The duals were moved to Rapid City due to it being a good meeting point between the two schools and a strong presence of Rapid City natives on the team.

The BCS is good because it emphasizes importance on every game, and if a team wants to win the national championship, they have to be ranked number one or number two in the BCS standings at the end of the regular season. The BCS accounts for a higher level of competition because sometimes losing just one game can take a team out of the national championship picture.
Whenever the participants of a championship game are NOT decided on the field, there is a problem. College football at the FBS level is the only sport that doesn't have a playoff system after the regular season is over. If your team has more than one loss or is not from a BCS conference, there is no chance of you winning the National Championship or even getting a chance to prove yourself on the field in order to earn a spot in the BCS title game.
