Vote yes on 13; legalize medical marijuana, says columnist
For as long as I can remember, I have been told that marijuana is a very dangerous and harmful drug that can lead me down a path to destruction. This may be true in some rare occurrences; but there are also many positive uses for this drug. The South Dakota ballot initiative 13 addresses such uses.
Governor says pair who saved woman are heroes
Gov. Mike Rounds has commended two summer interns with the South Dakota Department of Game, Fish and Parks for rescuing a woman whose car was on fire near Bristol on Aug. 25. Trevor Barthel of Watertown and Nick Markl of Windom, Minn., followed smoke from the fire and found a woman disoriented and dangerously close to a burning vehicle that had run into a cornfield. The pair pulled her to safety and called authorities.
