Fewer committees means less confusion for Faculty Senate and administration
A new system of committee organization on campus aims to lessen confusion for staff and students and eliminate “clutter’. Fifty-two Faculty Senate and administrative committees have been cut and combined to form 16 committees. Faculty Senate Vice President Robert Watrel said all the committees should be ready to meet in the next couple weeks.

South Dakota universities’ enrollment numbers are steadily rising to record levels. SDSU enrollment approaches 13,000 with a total headcount of 12,816 students, a 3.56 percent increase from last year.
Facebook group praises professor, sends wave of student letters to administrators
Passionate students protested the termination attempt both professionally and positively. Students created a Facebook group to show support for tenured biology professor Scott Pedersen after an attempt was made over the summer to formally terminate his contract.
