South Dakota used to be one of the 50 U.S. states that could boast of being in the land of the free. That is until this March, when Governor Rounds signed HB1215. The bottom line to this intrusive piece of legislation is not the right to say when life begins or ends, but is the first in what appears to be a long list of ways to take away South Dakota familes’ reproductive choices.
