Kasak?s loss impacts food pantry, staff perseveres with new manager
Despite recent setbacks, the Brookings Food Pantry is hoping to reach out to more families with the help of SDSU students. Don Kasak, former Brookings Food Pantry manager, passed away at the age of 75. Since then, the food pantry is trying to get back to its normal routine.
Competition goes supreme at Jackrabbit Bash
Local Brookings pizza places compete to see which pizza reigns above the rest. Students predict that Boss’s Pizza and Chicken will be the pizza champion. Eating contests, live music, beer gardens and a new pizza contest will all be found at the second annual Jackrabbit Bash. The event will kick off on Sept. 18 from 1 p.m. until midnight in downtown Brookings.
