New restaurant hits the ground

A new restaurant emerged in Brookings at the end of August. I was interested in trying out this arrival, so I grabbed a friend and we went on an adventure.

Ground Round has replaced the Pavilion Bar and Grill on the Days Inn hotel property at 2500 East 6th Street.

When we arrived, the parking lot was packed. Thankfully, my little Accord was able to fit into one of the last available spaces. Even with the lack of parking, we were seated immediately and were greeted with a large basket of popcorn. I thought this was an interesting idea, and it gave us something to munch on while perusing the extensive menu.

The menu offers a wide selection of food, including a variety of appetizers, soups, pastas, salads, sandwiches, burgers, home-style foods and desserts. For those of age, Ground Round provides numerous alcoholic beverages, boasting a wide variety of beer on tap. Also available are various lemonades, shakes, smoothies and Coke products.
