A group of SDSU advertising students took second place in the Midwest district of the 2011 National Student Advertising Convention in Minneapolis.
The five-member team presented their class campaign in front of a panel of judges April 17 at Wiley Hall on the University of Minnesota campus.
The annual competition draws the brightest and the best advertising students from across the nation in a unique competition that involves rebranding a corporate sponsor. This years sponsor was J. C. Penny.
Although the SDSU class didn’t win, they were honored with several awards, including best creative and best promotions plan.
Individual awards went to Erin Kennedy for best female presenter, and Brandon DeBoer received honorable mention for best male presenter.
Other members on the presentation team were Tyler Bitner, Kandi Moulder, and Aerica Hasz.
