SAFETY TIPS


1. Be aware of the surroundings.

2. Stay in well-lit areas.

3. Walk with someone, or make sure people know you’re walking at night.

4. Maintain a distance of 4 to 5 feet from anyone that comes up to you.

5. Contact the SDSUPD for an escort, or at least vary your route.

6. Don’t wear headphones.

7. Have some defensive things, like pepper spray or a whistle.

8. Take a self-defense class.

9. Lock your door, check your back seat and make sure your car looks safe before you get inside.

10. Don’t get intoxicated, as a person could slip something in your drink.
