Minneapolis indie rock band Buffalo Moon performed a benefit concert in Brookings last Friday to raise money for the Boys and Girls Club of Brookings.

The band provided its own transportation and accommodations while in Brookings. One hundred percent of the money raised went to the Boys and Girls Club.

The Boys and Girls Club of Brookings is a non-profit organization which serves over 1,350 youth in grades 1st through 12th. The Club’s mission is to inspire and enable all young people to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.

Buffalo Moon is a five-piece band that performs all original music. They have a bit of Latin flair, as their lead singer is originally from Ecuador.

Buffalo Moon was recently picked as number eight on the list of Best New Bands polled by the publication City Pages, a weekly news and arts magazine based in Minneapolis.
