Lafrentz to give senior music recital at SDSU September 26

Janelle (Lovlien) Lafrentz will give her senior vocal recital on Sunday, Sept.. 26, at 4 p.m. in Peterson Recital Hall at Lincoln Music Center on the South Dakota State University campus.

Lafrentz will perform works by composers Haydn, Dvorák, Ravel, DeFalla, John Jacob Niles and Kurt Weill. Most of her selections, she said, contain a folk-style flair that listeners are sure to enjoy.

Lafrentz is a senior music education major at State. She has been involved in many music ensembles including Concert Choir, Women’s Choir, and The Pride of the Dakotas marching band. She has also been involved with music organizations such as MENC, the national association for music education, and MTNA, Music Teachers National Association. She has been inducted in Kappa Delta Pi, an educator’s honor fraternity, and Phi Kappa Phi, a scholastic honors fraternity.
