Former ‘First Gent’ Robert Miller dies

With his wife by his side, Robert Miller passed away on April 7.

A service is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Friday, April 9, at Saint Boniface Episcopal Church in Sarasota, Florida. The family plans to hold a memorial of his life and legacy in Brookings at a later date.

A 1949 SDSU graduate, Miller was an active volunteer with the SDSU Foundation and served as volunteer director for the Innovation Campus. In 2000, he was honored as a Distinguished Alumnus for Service to SDSU.

Miller married Dr. Peggy Gordon Elliott – then-SDSU president – in 2001.
