Equestrian team excels

Seniors Kaylee Mundwiler, second in open horsemanship, and Tory Ruppert, first in advanced horsemanship, head the list of the eight Western riders that qualified for the IHSA Regionals after their impressive performance at North Dakota State this past weekend.

“Kaylee has been a very good, consistent performer for us in both IHSA and Varsity competitions for four years, and Tory qualified for the Western Semi-finals last year in Novice Horsemanship, so neither one of these riders is a surprise to me to make it,” said Western coach Joe Humphrey.

Along with Ruppert, Julie Corcoran had the Jacks’ other first place in novice horsemanship Feb. 6.

“All of the riders have shown continued improvements in their riding all year,” said Humphrey.
