The women’s basketball team rallied from a 33-28 halftime deficit to defeat Gonzaga 75-71 in overtime on Nov. 13 at Frost Arena. Jill Young hit two free throws in the late seconds of overtime to seal the win for the Jacks. “We showed some good toughness to keep making plays when things were not coming easy to us on the floor,” head coach Aaron Johnston said.
Turnovers cost Jacks in loss to Gophers
The SDSU football team was in prime position to knock off the Minnesota Golden Gophers, but the opportunity slipped through their hands – literally. The Jacks had the ball on their own 18-yard line in the fourth quarter of a tie game, but a Thomas O’Brien fumble set up the game-winning field goal, as the Gophers beat the Jacks 16-13 on Nov.
Campus improvements may lead to better student safety
Most of the time SDSU students feel safe on campus – and these students can feel good that crime statistics seem to back that notion up. According to the Clery Report – which is issued each October about the number of violent crimes that occurred on campus the previous year – the most prevalent crimes committed in and around the SDSU campus are liquor and drug law violations.

New retail outlet has various chic styles for Brookings
When students think of Brookings, shopping isn’t usually the first thing that comes to mind. Often, we decide to drive at least an hour to get to the closest mall or our favorite retailer. Skip that car ride and stay in town. We might not always realize it, but Brookings does have a lot to offer.
Catchy rhythms do not always equal good music
All Time Low has certainly hit theirs. Their most recent album, Nothing Personal, isn’t anything I expected from this band. All of the songs, save two, sound extremely similar and the two non-generic-pop-sounding tracks are so depressing. It’s hard to listen to them and not get into a melancholy state.
West dorm amusement simple to discover
There are many times at SDSU when dorm-residing students may wonder what there is to do on campus. Sometimes when there is not a campus event, it is hard to come up with ideas of what students should do with their friends. Though the weather is getting colder and there are not as many outdoor activities that are easily played, students that live on campus should not have too much trouble finding an activity, game or television to watch within their residence halls.
