Roots and Shoots is SDSU’s newest student organization that focuses on environmental conservation and stewardship. SDSU’s chapter of Roots and Shoots is a local branch of an international organization founded in 1991 by zoologist Jane Goodall and 16 Tanzanian students.

The Ram and O’Hare’s, located in downtown Brookings, is just such a place. “It was originally a bank; First National Bank,” said Tammy Young who, along with her husband Terry, has owned The Ram and O’Hare’s since April of 2005.
Newly-restored, ‘snazzy’ Bummobile to make its parade debut Saturday
A school icon and essential part of Hobo Day tradition, the Bummobile has been completely refurbished after a near 2,000-mile trip to the West Coast. The 1912 Model T. Ford was hauled by SDSU alumnus Harold C. Hohbach to Palo Alto, Calif., where it was restored from the inside out.
Grand Pooba makes Hobo Day a reality
Laughter, excitement and students dressed as hobos is what one should expect to see this Saturday, as well as the days leading up to it. Jackrabbits will attend and enjoy the various events of Hobo Day, but little do they know how much time and hard work Hobo Day Committee members put into their homecoming week.
Trashy’ tees come under fire
Every year in October, students can be seen sporting and selling various styles of Hobo Day T-shirts with assorted slogans alluding to the occasion. But what many do not realize is that, in some cases, their T-shirts are considered illegal by the university.
