Dining, living options to expand

The southeastern side of campus will soon be growing.

The Board of Regents approved plans April 2 to expand dining in The Union, remodel areas of Mathews Hall and build a new residence hall. The new hall, planned as a series of three buildings, will be built between the Rotunda and Grove Hall.

Marysz Rames, vice president for Student Affairs, said the dining and residence hall expansions would meet a growing need on campus.

“With recruiting and retention, students focus on the quality of academic programs but they also focus on the quality of out-of-classroom experiences,” she said. “With these facilities, we are enhancing the out-of-classroom experiences.”
