Obama stimulates Brookings’ economy

A piece of Brookings now stands in the White House lawn.

President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle, bought a Rainbows Play Systems swing set for their daughters Malia and Sasha, and surprised the girls with the present after school on March 4, the Associated Press reported.

The swing set, which was manufactured here in Brookings, has a slide, fort, climbing wall, climbing ropes and four swings. The set also features a picnic table with brass plates that have the name of all 44 presidents on them, according to the AP.
