Mistaken age dashes hope for trophy

Does anyone else ever feel like some deity – God, Allah, Buddha or Oprah – is messing with you? That is the best way to describe how I felt a few Saturdays ago when I participated in a 5K run. The handful of people who know me can attest that within the last year I have been a fitness enthusiast and spend many nights at the weight room to lift or jog.

Many decisions ahead for Obama

Issue: Our nation faces a new frontier of technology and infrastructure. A highly contentious election has also left battle scars among the left and right. While The Collegian wishes to express its congratulations to the president-elect, Barack Obama, we also want to remind him that he has a lot on his plate come January 20.

Q & A with the sports editor Ariy-El Boynton

Q: Isn’t Coughlin-Alumni Stadium (CAS) an embarrassment to SDSU football? A: No, and thanks for your question. Okay, I suppose I could go into more detail with my answer. Games are more than playable at CAS. Furthermore, the stadium is on par with most of the stadiums in the Missouri Valley Football League.

Two-Minute Drill

The Jackrabbit football team has been known to give fans near heart attacks in the last few years. With that spirit, here are some of the high and lows of the 2008 football season. Students take aim at others on the Internet

More than online chatting, social networking part of daily routine

A few minutes ago, I approved my 128th “Facebook” pal. Do I hear hurrah? Okay, I do not have to blow my own horn as it is too small a number compared to many other members who probably are growing their list of friends every day, even reaching the cap of 5000.

Twilight’s Edward is the perfect man

Hey, guys – have you figured out who Edward Cullen is yet? He’s a whole lot more than some vampire in one of the most popular book series since Harry Potter – he’s the man of your girlfriend’s dreams. Unless you’re the world’s greatest boyfriend (and you’re not; Edward is) you need to keep reading.

New plans are being made to help improve student dining services

Administrators are analyzing how The Union is going to meet the dining needs of the proposed 400-bed residence hall on the southeast side of campus. The current proposal that must be approved by the Board of Regents (BOR) at its next meeting includes adding dining space, integrating creative food options, introducing a service center, renovating The Union kitchen and expanding hours of operation.
