The tenth annual Mr. SDSU contest will be held Oct. 24 at 8 p.m.

There will be nine men participating for the title. According to Amy Danielson, the Resident Hall Assistant of Hansen Hall, each participant had to be represented by an organization to be qualified for the contest. The organizations range from Delta Chi to Pierson Hall.

The full list includes Tim Goldammer (representing Brown Hall), Nolan Hayes (Delta Chi), Colin Tobin (Hansen Hall), Mike Hefty (Mathews Hall), Jeff Van Oberbeke (Waneta Hall), Tim Guldan (Students’ Association), Clint Behrns (Collegiate 4-H), Adam Deppy (Pierson Hall) and Chris Dekker (Young Hall).

“On Thursday (Oct. 23) from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., there will be a stand up in The Union with each candidates picture, organization name and charity name,” said Danielson. “I encourage everyone to check it out to know more about the candidates.”

Danielson said on Oct. 22 the candidates will have pre-pageant interviews. During the actual contest there will be “talent/ lip synching, spirit, formal wear and stage questions portions.

“All of money goes to the charity of the winner’s choice,” said Danielson.

Goldammer, who is participating for his second year, has chosen the Children’s Miracle Network as his charity. “My little brother was born with a herniated diaphram. The Children’s Miracle Network helped support us and treated him,” Goldammer said.

Tom Winghart, assistant director of Residential Life; Adam Karnopp, director of orientation; Lindsey Bartlie, University Program Council adviser; Stephane Hedge, assistant complex director; and Tara Schwinger, residential hall director, are the five judges.

“I am looking forward most to the talent portion. Those who show they take this seriously will have a much better chance of winning,” said Karnopp.

Mr. SDSU will be in the Performing Arts Center at 8 p.m.
