Letter to the Editor

Dear Editor,

This is a note to publicly say “Thanks for the Hand” from the collegiate Veterans Club that exists on campus. My mother, Esther Matz, was a lucky recipient of a gracious act from our campus community. Mom is 94-years-old, partially blind and home-bound. She still lives on the ranch next to New Underwood, S.D., which is 18 miles east of Rapid City. The people pictured, “Eddie, Nick, Nick, Derek, Tony and John,” painted her house on the outside on Sept. 19 on their way to participate in a 26 mile hike (5th annual veterans march) at Deadwood on Sept. 20.

We are proud to have received and appreciate this help and encourage other veterans to join and help this club in their future endeavors. Thank you, guys. We hope you enjoyed yourselves with the cards, hunting and the food. The house looks new!
