Jacks beat SFA 50-48 with late touchdown

Four fourth quarter touchdowns, a field goal and one magnificent comeback. Oh, my! The SDSU football team came into Texas and played poorly in the opening half. They found themselves down 24-6. In the second half, it was 34-6. But the resilient Jackrabbit team has been behind before under head coach John Stiegelmeier.

Students have opportunity to flaunt abilities in Cavorts

SDSU has talent. For proof, look no further than Cavorts, the annual school-wide talent show consisting of students competing for cash prizes. “I am stoked for this year’s show,” said University Program Council showcase coordinator Jada Joseph, a sophomore music merchandising major.

It is easier when things are polite

This weekend I saw a very good but quite disturbing movie called Funny Games. Being a fan of gore, psychological thrillers and good and bad horror movies, I didn’t think much of this one based on the description. The movie starts with the Farber family going to their lake house.

Watch any movie about the music industry, and you’ll probably assume that musicians are in it only for the ‘rockstar’ image. However, throughout the course of my life, I’ve met several bands that give off the pure essence of passion. One of these bands is Here Lies The Traitor.

If you had 12 hours to watch any sporting event, how would spend it?

Zach Anderson “I would spend my time at Jordan-Hare Stadium when Alabama plays Auburn in the Iron Bowl, choosing to tailgate in the early morning hours from 8-12, then participating in the Tiger Walk, where the players and coaches walk to the stadium through a sea of fans.

Men’s team finishes 21st at Roy Griak Invitational

The SDSU men’s cross country team finished 21st out of 25 teams at the Roy Griak Invitational on Sept. 27. Leading the way for SDSU in the 8,000-meter race at Les Bolstad Golf Course were Rapid City natives Michael Krsnak, who placed 129th with a time of 26 minutes and 51.

After 162 games, only eight teams remain

It’s October and that means playoff baseball. NL Division Series Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Chicago Cubs- The Cubs have been the best team in the NL for most of the year, but the Dodgers have come on strong with the acquisition of Manny Ramirez. The Dodgers have played better in the month of September, but the Cubs had the NL Central pretty much wrapped up.

Jacks earn two wins in Hoosier State

SDSU started off their Summit League schedule with two consecutive wins on the road. On Sept. 26 in Indianapolis, Ind., the Jacks shut out IUPUI with a 1-0 win. The lone goal came from Kelsey Ferguson during the 71st minute, her third of the season. Freshman Cori Bonte assisted on the goal for her first point as a Jackrabbit.

Jacks take 15th at U of M Invite

Four SDSU runners finished in the upper half of the Roy Griak Invitational, leading the women’s cross country team to a 15th-place finish in the team standings on Sept. 27. Junior Ashley Storm led SDSU by completing the 6,000-meter course in 22 minutes, 39.
