Jacks ice hockey ready to compete

The SDSU Women’s Hockey Team will return to action this fall to prepare for the American Collegiate Hockey Association Women’s Division II Showcase Tournament in International Falls, Minn. It will be hosted by Rainy River Community College on Oct. 26, 27 and 28.

Recycling program spreads across campus

On Sept. 25, the newly expanded recycling program resumed in residence halls and around the SDSU campus, making recycling more available and convenient than in previous years. According to Andrew Natzel, the Campus Recycling Coordinator and a senior civil engineering student, the amount of recycling containers doubled from just over 50 containers to more than 100 from last year to this year.

A new internship coordinator is coming to SDSU soon. The new coordinator will help to organize the internships that so many students are looking for. The College of General Studies is in the process of finding someone to fill the position. With a new internship coordinator on board, there will be many new and exciting opportunities for all the students at SDSU.

Another Hobo Day has come and gone, leaving the city of Brookings picking up beer cans, processing arrests and wondering what just happened. College kids are finding their clothes on front lawns and catching up on many hours of lost sleep. Sometimes simultaneously.

Fall season influences realizations paired with colorful details

SDSU equestrians lose in KSU match

Using young riders and facing a more experienced team, the SDSU equestrian team fell to Kansas State University 11.5-5.5 in a dual match up at the Swiftel Center on Sept. 29. SDSU competed well on the Western side. Jordanne Blair and Molly Seidel earned victories in horsemanship.

Jacks to face GSU Eagles

SDSU will try and get to the .500 mark this Saturday as they travel down to Statesboro, Ga., to play six-time FCS (formally Division I-AA) national champion Georgia Southern Eagles (3-1). The Jacks have played the Eagles two previous times, in 2004 and 2005.
