Apparently, 95 percent of humans watch “Grey’s Anatomy.” Admitting that you do not is close to blasphemy in many circles. Since I haven’t written on the subject in a few weeks, I feel that it is necessary to enlighten you on recent developments. Recently, “Grey’s Anatomy” was renewed for a fourth season by ABC.
Death in ‘Macbeth’

The Brookings Arts Council will be holding a talent showcase on Monday, April 23. The show will feature many different acts, including poetry, belly dancing and vocals, by many community members. Micah Wetzel, an SDSU senior, will perform a song at the show.
Jackrabbits aced out by Bluejays
The SDSU men’s tennis team has had some setbacks this season. “We’re missing three players now,” said Coach Josh Lunak, “so we’re moving everybody from the JV up to the lineup. It’s been a struggle.” Nevertheless, the team strapped on their tennis shoes and took on Creighton University in their first home match of the year April 17.
Dust off the spikes for one more game
After years of lying dormant, the heralded softball rivalry between the South Dakota State history and geography clubs resumed with much fanfare and excitement. Sunflowers seeds were spit, beer was drunk, softballs were hit and a good time was had by all.
Jacks swept by Creighton
April 17 was a superb day in Brookings. It was 65 degrees and sunny, with a slight easterly breeze. At Hillcrest Park the SDSU women’s tennis team hosted the Blue Jays from Creighton University. Creighton swept SDSU 8-0, winning both the doubles and singles matches.
Rodeo stampedes through SDSU
In the 53rd annual Jackrabbit Stampede Rodeo, the South Dakota State men and women’s rodeo teams performed well, roping second and fourth respectively. “We had some really good performances,” said rodeo Head Coach Terry McCutcheon. The rodeo teams had three event winners.

Regents approve tuition hike
Students at all state universities in South Dakota will pay 6.3 percent more in tuition and mandatory fees next year, the South Dakota of Board of Regents decided April 12. “This is an increase that reflects the most critical needs of the universities,” said Robert T.
