Sioux Falls will be rocked with a different kind of show early next month. A show with music, comedy, theatrics and … paint??
On April 7, the Blue Man Group’s “How To Be A Megastar Tour 2.0″ will be at the Sioux Falls Arena for what is described as a “not to be missed experience” by Jennie Willink, Executive Producer of the tour.
The Blue Man Group, as you may have recognized on commercials such as Intel, has been on tour since Feb. 1 and will last until April 22. The tour will go through 105 cities in the U.S., and they also have recurring live events in cities such as New York, Las Vegas, Amsterdam and London, among a few.
Although the tour has about 50 actors to play the part of the blue men, the group was actually founded by Phil Stanton, Chris Wink and Matt Goldman in New York City over 20 years ago. The group made quite the buzz in the theatre community and had several appearances in on Jay Leno.
The point of the Blue Man is to somewhat mock a real male human without using words. They can only communicate to each other and to the audience through gestures and face movements. Their actions coordinate with the music to create comedy, amazement and art. Not only do they have a professional DJ, they also have drums and PVC pipes to create different sounds.
The group uses different elements at each show, but each one will impress and mesmerize you. They also incorporate much of the audience into the show, creating a very personal experience.
Although tickets run very high ($49.50 – $75.00), it’s a show that will always stick in your memory. It’s an experience that is well worth the price and will leave you begging for more.
The show starts at 7:30 p.m. and is just under two hours, without an intermission.
