Local organic grower sells farm ‘shares’

Coffee wasn’t the only thing available over the counter at Cottonwood Coffee this summer. Some people were getting organic vegetables there as well, although they weren’t exactly buying them. “It’s all kind of connected in a way,” said Jacob Limmer, who owns Cottonwood Coffee.

What should you do when credit-card debt hits you hard?

SDSU junior Justin Parham was 18 when he received his first credit card offer. “It came in the mail, and at the time I thought it was pretty sweet,” he said. But Parham became one of the many students sucked into credit card debt. “I fell into an $8,000 debt,” he said.

SDSU auto engineers chapter building half-size Indy racecar

To all the sportscar and loud pickup-truck owners that think your vehicle is hot stuff, prepare to be blown away by a few handy hobos. The SDSU chapter of the Society of Automotive Engineers is currently developing a Formula One racecar. The vehicle will race in a national collegiate competition at the California Speedway in Fontana, Calif.

Watch for the magazine rip-off: Illegal solicitors hitting up halls

If anyone comes knocking on your door with the promise of popular magazines, think twice before giving them your money. Hunter College of New York City evicted a student from the residence halls for attempted suicide in 2004, according to an Associated Press article in September. The student called 911 after overdosing on Tylenol. Following her recovery, the 19-year-old returned to her room to find that her lock had been changed.

In the Middle: War on Terror

I’m angry. I would think that after 9/11/01, those on the Left and the Right would forge a real plan to stop those with an ideology that led to the deaths of thousands of Americans. But both sides are so busy staring each other down that they’re missing the realities of terror.

American ignorance unmatched compared to the rest of the world

Are Americans as dumb as they look? Yup, sure are. Our culture knows where the best pizza is, how to weasel a buddy out of money during poker and where to hit the best bars. But that’s where the buck stops. The average citizen doesn’t know a thing about other countries.
