South Dakota State falls to Georgia Southern University
Saturday afternoon’s football game at Coughlin-Alumni Stadium featured offense, offense and then a little more offense. The Jackrabbits combined with 19th-ranked Georgia Southern University Eagles for 41 points in the fourth quarter alone. In all, the two teams scored 97 points.
Cross Country teams excel at Independent Championship
The South Dakota State Cross Country Team performed well at the Division I Independent Championship. The men’s team won the event, and the women’s team took second place, missing the championship by one point. The Lady Jacks were 17 points higher than the third place team.
Jacks lose border battle to Bison
In the second battle between the two Dakotas, the Jackrabbits lost the Dakota Marker by a score of 41-17. The Rabbits won the initial battle last year, but could not retain the marker this year. The game started out promising for the Jacks. The Bison fumbled early in the game, allowing the Jacks to jump out to a 7-0 lead.
Swimming and Diving joins new conference
The SDSU Swimming and Diving team joined the Mid-Continent Conference as an associate member for swimming and diving. The conference commissioner made the official announcement Nov. 3, after an unanimous vote by the Mid-Continent Conference Presidents Council and Joint Council.
