Aguiar acted ethically in classroom

We are writing to clear up some of the inconsistencies in the article written regarding the investigation of Professor Gary Aguiar. We have taken many political science courses with Professor Aguiar, and at no time did he force anyone to sign petitions or help with his campaign. Students did so of their own free will. As for the political parties and campaigns class, the students who chose to use Professor Aguiar in their campaign plan did so because they did not find another candidate. These students at any time could have found another candidate to use if they did not see this as being ethical. At no time was anything Professor Aguiar did unethical or even questionable.
