James Christopher Towle, a 44-year-old freshman, was found dead in his trailer home more than a week ago.

His friend went to check on him and found the body.

“As of right now, it looks like he died of natural causes,” said Lt. Jeff Miller of the Brookings Police Department.

Miller added, “we will just wait until the autopsy report comes back and that will tell us what happened.”

Currently no foul play is suspected, Miller said.

Towle lived alone in Brookings in a trailer home and was a music major.

Funeral services were held in Osage City, Kan. Towle worked at Gateway Computers until the company closed. He was presently a student and a member of “The Pride Marching Band.”

He was born in Topeka, Kan. and is survived by his parents and siblings.
