I am writing this letter in response to the Feb. 14 edition of the Collegian. I am dissapointed that the SDSU track and field teams, along with other varsity level sports such as swimming and diving, receive no attention from the Collegian while the club hockey team has had an article in the paper for the past three weeks.
While I mean to show no disrespect towards the hockey team or any members on it, I find it ironic that the athlete of the week, who was a hockey player, was also shown in a fight on the previous page. It’s too bad that a large majority of the SDSU campus will never hear about the track athletes that have been setting school records and meeting national qualifying standards so far this season.
