The ‘Riot of ’05′?

What started as a power outage quickly turned into a mob of students who decided to take control of the campus. However, Monday night’s demonstrations can’t really be considered a riot because of the small amount of damage and violence that occured. “In order for this to be considered a riot, there must be violence,”say Sociology Professor Patricia Joffer.

Cavorts Tryouts

Try-outs for the annual Cavorts talent show will be held on Wednesdsay, Oct. 5. Interested applicants can sign-up for tryouts all day Wednesday at the University Program Council office in the Union. Performers ranging from poets to dancers, are encouraged to participate.

Tapping into a dance minor at SDSU

The dance minor is back this semester with a variety of courses for everyone interested in movement. Technique classes include tap, ballet, modern and jazz, while other classes include Dance Fundamentals, Choreography and Composition, Dance for the Musical Theatre, Multicultural Dance and Creative Movement for Kids.

He is haunted by her spirit, and they decide to try and figure out the connection between the two of them.

Mortal Kombat: Sholin Monks

Mortal Kombat: Shoalin Monks is the latest in the Mortal Kombat series. This time, however, the creators steer away from the traditional arcade fighter that the series is known for and opt for an action-adventure game. If your memory of the last Mortal Kombat action-adventure game (the horrendously bad Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero) makes you cringe involuntarily, then you must use this game as an opportunity to renew your faith in the Mortal Kombat series.

Recreational Sioux Falls

For the first time Howard Wood Field in Sioux Falls will host a SDSU football game this Saturday. If you venture down south to catch the game, you could easily make a day of it. The state’s biggest city is no Minneapolis, but it still offers a vast array of things to do on a Saturday.

“It’s Greek to me”

Unity, support, teamwork, leadership skills and networking are just a few of the benefits that most Greeks will attest to. The Greek population on campus is still described as relatively small, but about 270 students populate the 10 Greek fraternities tied to SDSU.
