Out of Africa

Jerry Smith

The Collegian’s photo editor, Jerry Smith, recently spent 18 days in Africa. Smith shared his trip with the other members of his Geography 492/692 class.

The class prepared for its trip by meeting once a week and discussing the geography and culture of Africa.

Although Smith found the majority of his trip very exciting, the most memorable event was a voodoo dance ceremony the group was able to attend.

“The voodoo dancing ceremony was the coolest part because it was so different from anything I’ve seen before,” Smith said.
