Food tax refund in reach for students

New scoreboards planned for SDSU athletics

New Daktronics scoreboards could be installed in Frost Arena and Coughlin Alumni Stadium by the next academic year. “We are at the final phases of selecting equipment and marketing plan for new equipment and new upgrades in Frost Arena, our swimming area, softball, baseball and Coughlin Alumni Stadium,” said Fred Oien, director of athletics.

Jacks win at home, beat NDSU

Jackrabbit fans came to Frost Arena in anticipation of the SDSU Division I battle against North Dakota State University in the 33rd Annual Pork Classic Saturday night. The crowd helped cheer the SDSU men’s basketball team on to a 78-59 victory. “The biggest role in tonight’s game was the fans,” Coach Scott Nagy said Early in the game, the Jacks struggled to break away from NDSU.

As new union goes up, bookstore traffic declines

Students, faculty and campus organizations have all had to make adjustments this year because of the University Student Union’s construction. But the construction has actually hurt business for the University Bookstore. With the breezeway and meeting rooms gone, the bookstore has lost most of its walk-by traffic customers, upsetting sales immensely.

Women’s basketball 7-4 versus D-I teams

South Dakota State improved to 7-4 against Division I competition with a 58-36 victory over the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Saturday night. Five of SDSU’s first six field goals were three-pointers and the Jacks opened an early 19-6 lead. UWM cut it to 25-20 but Megan Vogel hit a three-pointer to make it 28-20 at halftime.
