Men’s hockey games canceled
The men’s hockey club was scheduled to play two games against the University of South Dakota Dec. 2 and 3, but the games never took place. USD called late Friday afternoon to inform SDSU that they would not be able to play. Without those two games, the Jacks are 6-2 on the year.
Basketball teams travel to nearby cities
Going home for Christmas Break does not mean eliminating the chance to view SDSU sports. While students are home for a month, enjoying time off of school and maybe working for a few weeks, the men’s and women’s basketball teams have a full slate of games in Brookings, as well as other cities where students might be during the holiday break.
Women’s hockey club growing at SDSU
Women’s hockey may not have the big hits that men’s hockey does, but that has not taken away the appeal of playing for many female students on campus. In its third year, the Women’s Hockey Club has 19 players. The team has seen numbers jump from 10 the first year, and 12 last year.
Jacks split pair of home games over weekend
The Lady Jackrabbits squared off against Middle Tennessee State Friday Dec. 3 in Frost Arena. The MTSU Blue Raiders qualified for the NCAA tournament last year and had a 3-2 record heading into the game against the Jacks. The Jackrabbits fell to the Blue Raiders 79-72.
Video games provide fun during finals week
As the semester comes to an end and finals week approaches, we find ourselves with more “free time” to participate in activities like video games. Everyone knows that Halo has taken over the gaming world; however, I am not an avid Xbox gamer. Play Station 2 is my console of choice.
From parents’ to husband’s house?
Did I miss out on the marriage craze? What is behind the Midwest rush to marry? Particularly in the case of female college students.. A friend of mine at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln turned 21 on Thursday. He proposed to his now-fianc
Savor time at SDSU
I’m graduating Saturday, or at least that’s my hope, and although I may just be going back home to work after graduation, I still believe in SDSU and love the time I’ve spent here. To those people who can’t wait to get out of here, who maybe even can’t stand it here, I have one question to ask: have you put anything into it, any effort or commitment? The only way you will get something in return is to give of yourself and invest your time, energy and, as most college students have found out, money.
Debate continues without merit
I am an alumnus of SDSU and I have been reading the editorials somewhat about some people calling this one girl a racist. My initial reaction was amusement because of the ignoramus response to her article. To claim she is a racist is absolutely baseless and tactless.
Games sometimes used to relax
I would honestly love nothing more than to put this entire Xbox/racism/Roxy Hammond debacle to rest, but I couldn’t help but object to the view of gamers put forth by Sara Ibis in her recent letter to the editor, cryptically headlined “Do other than Xbox.” While I admire Ms.
