Dinner to showcase various countires

The International Relations Club will be hosting an International Dinner Oct. 30 at the Old Sanctuary.

The dinner will include entrees from the different counties represented at SDSU. There will also be presentations and speakers from the counties.

The event cotst $4 for students and $* for non-students.

Orchestra featured in Halloween day concert

The SDSU-Civic Symphony will perform a “Young People’s Concert” on Halloween afternoon in the Performing Arts Center at South Dakota State University in Brookings.

The concert, free and open to the public, will begin at 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31.

Featured will be the orchestra’s principal bassoonist, Leah Schaff, a junior from Sioux Falls, performing the Vivaldi “”oncerto in A Minor” PV 72.

The Mozart “Serenata Notturna,” K. 239 will spotlight violinists Emma Konstant, a freshman, and Rebecca Smith, a graduate student, both of Watertown; violist Daphne Mousoglou, a freshman from Brookings; and bassist Jeff Postma of Orange City, Iowa.

Known as the “Bass Symphony,” the Beethoven “Symphony No. 8 in F Major,” Op. 93, will conclude the program.

The orchestra is sponsored by Lawrence & Schiller Marketing and Advertising Professionals of Sioux Falls.

Proficiency testing, Res Life moved to new locations

Both the Department of Residential Life and the SDSU Proficiency testing sessions have been moved to new locations.

Res Life is now located at the United Methodist Center, on the corner of 8th Street and 11th Avenue.

The department telephone number and mailing address have not changed.

Proficiency testing sessions will be held Nov. 8-10 in the Peterson Recital Hall in the Lincoln Music Building.

The Nov. 8 and 9 sessions will be held at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. One 10 a.m. session will be held Nov. 10.

Proficiency testing was formerly held at the Volstorff Ballroom in the University Student Union, which is currently under construction.
