One South Dakota State University athlete and another former SDSU athlete pleaded guilty on Tuesday to felony charges in unrelated cases.
Jackrabbit football player Anthony Robinson pleaded guilty to distribution of more than one pound of marijuana and another charge of distribution of less than a half pound of marijuana. A third distribution charge was dismissed.
Marquise Richardson, 23, a senior guard for the SDSU basketball team last season, pleaded guilty to first-degree robbery and simple assault.
Sentencing for both men has been set for Oct. 26.
Richardson faces up to 25 years in prison and another year in the county jail.
Robinson, who has been practicing with the team but has not played, faces up to 20 years in prison.
Robinson, from Fontana in southern California, was arrested in June after he allegedly distributed marijuana on two separate occasions to confidential informants. A search warrant was then obtained and over 10 pounds of marijuana was seized at his apartment. He was then arrested.
Richardson, of Decatur, Ill., was accused of entering a woman’s home intending to rob her and then assaulting her.
As part of a plea agreement, an attempted robbery charge was dismissed.
