SDSU creates partnership with EROS
The Geographic Information Science Center of Excellence will soon start at SDSU. The center will be a partnership between SDSU and the United States Geological Survey and the EROS Data Center to combine research facilities and knowledge.
Dining locations get mixed reviews
With the union and its major dining hub the Market closed this year, students are changing the way they eat on campus. New dining locations have been up and running for a month and while reviews are mixed, food service director Dave Menzel said he’s pleased with how the changes are going.

If you’ve ever seen an episode of ER, then you’ve probably seen how the shock-inducing defibrillators are used to make a still heart beat.
SA gives engineers $3,600 for Baltimore trip
The Student’s Association approved the allocation of money to SDSU’s chapter of American Society of Civil Engineers at its weekly meeting Monday. The chapter received the Robert Ridgway Award in May and must travel to a national conference in Baltimore Oct.
Madison soldier leaves family, school for heat of Iraq
When a soldier is deployed, the emotions of the situation tend to hit home, especially when it’s a fellow student, a brother or a son. On Sept. 13, SDSU student Paul Ebsen came home for a two-week leave after being on active duty in the South Dakota Army National Guard.
Athletes plead guilty
One South Dakota State University athlete and another former SDSU athlete pleaded guilty on Tuesday to felony charges in unrelated cases. Jackrabbit football player Anthony Robinson pleaded guilty to distribution of more than one pound of marijuana and another charge of distribution of less than a half pound of marijuana.
Engineering students go to Chicago
A group of eight SDSU students and faculty recently ventured to Chicago’s McCormick Place for the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS). An estimated 90,000 attended the show. The show, which is the largest industrial exposition in North America, ran eight days, from Sept.
