Ingredients

Two slices of white bread

Three lettuce leaves

Three slices of turkey bacon

Quarter cup mayonnaise

One tomato; thinly sliced

Three slices of cheddar cheese

How to prepare

Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise onto each slice of bread.

Layer the bottom slice of bread with lettuce, tomato, turkey bacon and cheese; repeat layers twice.

Top layers with the second slice of bread.

Place in microwave for 45 seconds to 1 minute or until cheese is melted.

Why is it called the “club”?No one really knows for certain where the name for the “club” sandwich came from. Some say that it was served in club cars on passenger trains. Others say it was created at a turn of the century casino club in upstate New York.
