Villain or hero?

It doesn’t happen very often, but sometimes I have to pause a video game just to wipe the sweat from my white-knuckled hands and tell myself that it’s, well, just a video game. NASCAR: Chase For The Cup 2005 is one such game. EA Sports has outdone themselves by throwing in one of the greatest ideas ever into a NASCAR racing game–it allows you to become a hero or a villain.

This is THE place to go for bizarre and strange videos and flash animation. Do you want to see a video about ducks that die on the moon? What about a blindfolded pianist that plays backwards? Of course you do. Video creators and flash animators from all over the world submit their works to be enjoyed by the masses.

No reason to be a slob

Choices. Davis tries to save Creighton game

Despite goalkeeper Jenn Davis saving 12 shots, the South Dakota State University women’s soccer team lost 2-0 to Creighton University Saturday night in Omaha. The Jackrabbits were out-shot on the night 36-7, including a 20-7 advantage in the first half. Creighton broke a scoreless tie in the second half when Brooke Hesse scored off a corner kick from Emily Munn.

Psychology graduate finds success in photography

Heather Mangan Collegian Paul Horsted has a degree from SDSU that he’s never used. Although Horsted has been successful as a freelance photographer, he studied something different at SDSU. His degree is in psychology, but his passion is photography. After graduation from Brandon Valley High School in 1979, Horsted came to Brookings to pursue a journalism degree.

SA discusses summer events, plans for the new year

In their first meeting of the year, the Student’s Association discussed many of the topics they plan to deal with in the next few weeks. Monday’s meeting began with Barb Telkamp asking the SA’s permission to put up posters around campus for a community event.

SDSU students create an easy, quick breakfast food

A team of South Dakota State University students created a meat product so tasty and so convenient, it won first place in a national contest. “Breakfast on the Run,” created by four SDSU students, placed first in the Taste of RMC competition during the Reciprocal Meat Conference in Lexington, Ky.

Government encourages students to get involved

If you live on campus, chances are you’re benefiting from Residence Hall Government. Hall government plans programs like dances and games. It also decides how to spend voluntary dues to improve the hall’s community. The activities are meant to give students a break from studying and it introduces them to other students.
