Collegian ‘Filth’, I Think Not

Blownoff@Hotmail.Com Two people wrote about the “Blowjob” Article last week in Letters to the Editor about how they were appauled that the Collegian would print an article like that. I saw, Good Job Collegian…do these people think that oral sex doesn’t happen at SDSU? I mean, sex is a part of society and should be [...]

Rescent Articles int the Collegian

Stuamerica@Yahoo.Com I have been a reader for four years. I have seen the paper degenerate from a respected journal of student opinoion to that of a small, little respected part of campus. Many people on campus have felt that over the past few years the Collegian has become way too politicisezed and too partisan. I have [...]

Keep Woodbine livable

I read the article about President Miller wanting to replace windows in Woodbine Cottage as opposed to repairing them quoting the price of $170,000 to repair them, and $100,000 to replace them. It seems to me that it would be less expensive to replace them.

Attempts at media censorship deprive society of open forum

I have good days and bad ones. The good days are when I see progressive liberal changes being made and open challenges to the status quo occurring. Progress of our nation depends on challenging the set rules. My bad days are the days when I see our nation regress; when we blindly accept things as they are without question; or when conservative views of the world attack and persecute those who wish to make people think differently.

Unique toilet yields silly story

As I sit down to write my column this evening I find myself not wanting to talk about this past week whatsoever, as it’s been what one might call, a phenomenally bad week. So instead I’ve decided to share with you a horrifyingly embarrassing experience from my past in order to win friends and influence people.

Sex column is filth

Unfortunately, like a majority of other students, I had to hear about the Collegian’s oral sex article from the six-o-clock news. I am appalled that the Collegian wouldprint such filth, and I am worried about the image it portrays to future students, their parents and alumni.

All media have responsibility not to unduly offend public

Super Bowl XXXVIII was one of the best championship games ever played. But this year’s Super Bowl will not be remembered for its explosion of offense in the second half or its last-second game-winning field goal by SDSU’s Adam Vinatieri. Super Bowl XXXVIII will be most remembered for what occurred at halftime, when Janet Jackson put a little too much of herself into the MTV-produced halftime show.

Sex advice hubbub

Allenrbrandt@Hotmail.Com Well, since I am no longer at South Dakota State (and South Dakota as well), I don’t hear much about what is going on at my alma mater except from my alumni magazine. When I found out about the sex advice column online, I decided to check it out for myself. I have to [...]

Lady Jacks Win Over Weekend

Friday Night Friday night’s basketball game between South Dakota State and St. Cloud State portrayed two freshman phenoms-SDSU’s Megan Vogel vs. SCSU’s Erika Quigley. While Vogel led SDSU with 22 points, 6 assists and 12 rebounds, Quigley scored 26 points and grabbed 13 rebounds.

Yanks Buy, Sox Cry

The New York Yankees may not have clinched the World Series this past week with the trade for Alex Rodriguez, but they have pretty much sewn up a playoff appearance. The best part for the Pinstripes is the fact that they stole A-Rod from the rival Boston Red Sox.
