Medical marijuana could be first step toward greater ills

Practically everyone agrees that “hard drugs” like cocaine and heroin should be regulated, but there is far more disagreement about marijuana, a drug that many people feel is no worse than tobacco and alcohol. In some parts of the country, marijuana use is so common that the police don’t really try to enforce the laws – they have bigger fish to fry.
