President keeps nation’s best interests at heart

The September 11 terrorist attacks had a huge impact on American foreign policy. Prior to September 11, President Bush had been something of an isolationist. After September 11, however, the president quickly shifted gears, formulating a new foreign policy for a dangerous new world.
