Food program volunteers needed

The Volunteer Service Bank in Brookings is assisting with the Commodity Food Program Sign-Up and distribution and needs volunteers to help.

They will assist with the distribution of food to low income persons 60 years and older on the last Thursday of each month.

The food arrives at the Brookings Police Department and is then delivered by box to the elderly confined to their homes and unable to do their own pick-up.

It is a similar program to Meals-On-Wheels.

For more information contact Pam Erickson or Mike Stoltenburg of the Brookings Police Department at 692-2113, or call the Volunteer Service Bank at 692-6102.
