“Mayor’s Award” to recognize restoration work


Mayor Virgil Herriott and the Brookings Historic Preservation Commission invite home and business owners to nominate significantly restored projects that merit the official recognition of the “Mayor’s Awards”.

Buildings are eligible if they meet the following criteria:

1. 50 years old or more.2. Residential, commercial, income property (even garages!).3. Located within the corporate limits of the City of Brookings.

Entries will be judges on consistency in style, propriety of materials to date of construction, quality of workmanship and sensitivity to environment

To obtain a nomination form, contact Shari Thornes, Brookings city clerk, at City Hall, 311 Third Avenue, 692-6281 or sthornes@cityofbrookings.org.

Submission deadline is Monday, March 31, 2003.
