Lewis to lecture on counseling


Dr. Judy Lewis, an internationally recognized author in the field of counseling, will be speaking Thursday, Feb. 20, in the Campanile Room of the University Student Union at 6:30 p.m.

Lewis, who is sponsored by the Department of Counseling and Human Resource Development, will speak on “The Counselor as an Advocate.”

The lecture is free and open to the public.

She will also head up an all-day workshop on Feb. 21 at the Sioux Falls Convention Center covering “Counseling from a Social Justice Perspective.”

Lewis spent 30 years as a school counselor, and is currently a professor and program director of Governor State University in University Park, Ill.
