Libby looks at alternative dating services, the happening night life in Brookings

Libby Hill

Dear Libby,

I’m a 22 year old female and a senior at SDSU. I am really tired of the bar scene and am looking for new ways to meet guys. I haven’t ever had a successful relationship and I’m wondering where the best place to meet guys. -Lonely at Last Call

Dear Lonely,

Let me start out by telling you that finding the love of your life at the bar scene is pretty rare. That said, I might as well also mention that your best bet for finding love is with someone who shares common interests with you.

If you aren’t a member of any groups on campus, you should seriously consider joining one, not necessarily to seek out love, but just to meet more people who you can relate to.

If all else fails, feel free to pursue the online dating service game. Good luck!

Dear Libby,

This town is so boring! I can’t ever find anything to do on weekends. I mean, every so often, I get invited to parties, but I’m not old enough to go to the bars. What else is there in Brookings?-Bored in Binnewies

Dear Bored,

Let me tell you, if all you know of to do in this town is party and eventually get into the bars, you’re in for a long college career here at SDSU.

Take it from an upperclassman, there are plenty of entertaining things to do in this town if you search them out. There are also plenty of things to do on campus. Brookings is a happening town, my friend, you just need to start looking a little harder.
