Good: Listening to the male DJs on KSDJ having to say “Vagina Monologues” over and over again. By the fourth or fifth time of having to repeat the advertisement, we think they finally stopped blushing.
Bad: The icy roads in Brookings. Hey, if we wanted to slide around smashing into things at break-neck speeds in an attempt to kill ourselves, we would all join the hockey team.
Good: Jim’s Tap. Sure it looks a little intimidating at first, what with all of the instruments of death hanging on the walls. But any drinking establishment that can get you good and lubed up in three beverages or less is ok in our book.
Bad: The Oscar’s. Four very long hours of over-inflated, egotistical actors congratulating each other on how great they all performed in fictitious role playing creations. Do these folks know how to have a good time or what?
Good: Knowing that when you were a teenager, you were way cooler than any of the millions of rodent-like high schoolers who scurry around this campus during Little I.
Good: Making inflammatory statements for the sole purpose of getting people to write angry letters to the editor. Manipulation. It’s a good thing.
And the unattractive: Professors and instructors who order, not ask, students to leave the NFA computer lab when a class is about to start. It continues to amaze us that in all your years of pursuing advanced degrees that no one taught you that politeness does wonders. Do you ever get curious as to why students don’t seem to respect you? Hey if you don’t treat us like human beings, why should we acknowledge your existence? Better yet, why should be bother to pay your salary?
